Pre-Planning

A BNG assessment should be completed by an ecologist at the initial design stage of a development.

We can recommend experienced ecologists to support you with this process if needed.

Once you know your BNG Unit requirement, we will provide a BNG Proposal which confirms to the LPA that you have sourced the required BNG units.

2

Planning

When submitting a planning application, developers must provide evidence of how they will meet mandatory BNG requirements. This will include a copy of our BNG Proposal to confirm units have been identified.

We also provide support in negotiations with the LPA to ensure your planning application meets all the new legal requirements.

3

Post-Planning

Once planning permission has been granted, you must formally secure the required BNG units.

At this stage, we provide a Supply and Assurance Certificate to support your final Biodiversity Gain Plan submission.

Once submitted, this enables the LPA to approve and discharge the BNG condition, allowing development to proceed in full compliance.

4

Long-Term Management

We include a detailed Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan in the BGP. The plan sets out how we will then maintain and monitor the units for the required 30-year period.

We take the responsibility for the BNG units out of your hands, and into ours. This allows you to focus on your development plans.
